Ukrainian Souvenirs: Returning home from Ukraine it would be nice to add to the impressions about this country some Ukrainian souvenirs preserving ethnic color and folk traditions. Exquisite hand-made embroidery, original ceramics and articles of straw cannot but leave people indifferent. Wooden plates, spoons, boxes and trays, painted Easter eggs, incrusted maces, straw averters, ceramic pots, dolls etc. are very popular among tourists. The Ukrainian Petrikivka decorative painting attained international fame. The name “Petrikivka” derives from the name of the old Cossack village in Dnepropetrovsk Region, Ukraine, founded in 1772, and well known, like Khokhloma in Russia, to the judges of folk art far beyond Ukraine.
